While watching boxer Ricky Hatton's
victorious title fight in Las Vegas, the
former Take That singer stood to reveal
an appeal T-shirt.
The bout
was watched by millions of people around
the world and photographers clamoured to
get the shot.
Among
the thousands of English fans in the
crowd was Gene Bennett, from Manchester,
who said: "It was a touching gesture.
"He
must have known lots of TV cameras and
photographers would be looking at him,
so he used his fame for a good cause."
Meanwhile, in Malta, police say they
have received 17 reported sightings of
Madeleine, who was snatched from her
family's holiday flatin Portugal on May
3.
A
spokesman said: "We don't disregard any
lead, but of those that have been put
forward until now, none have allowed us
to verify anything significant."
Officers insist they will continue to
investigate any sightings.
However, they doubt the four-year-old
was taken to the island.
They
also question whether she would be shown
in public by her abductors because of
the intense media coverage of the case.
