Maddie:
PJ warns the Scotland Yard |
|
|
Translation by Astro |
The
Judiciary asks the English police to
stop giving out information in order to
avoid media exposure and harming the
investigation
The British police and the Judiciary
Police are
gathered in Faro this Thursday to
adjust the details on how the searches
and the excavations in Praia da Luz,
within the scope of the Maddie case, are
to be carried out.
Before the meeting, the Scotland Yard
team, lead by chief inspector Andy
Redwood, visited a café in downtown
Faro, where they were already expected
by British journalists, in a clearly
prepared scenario. Upon leaving, the
head of the team refused to speak:
"Excuse us. We don't make any comments
today. Thank you."
On the table is a balance of what has
already been done and mainly the
adjusting of the details of what there
is to do. The most important step: the
searches and excavations on grounds in
Praia da Luz. Diligences that have been
accepted by the Public Ministry in
Portimão and that the PJ will have to
carry out.
The Scotland Yard detectives want to
understand in what manner they can be
performed and if they will be able to
use sniffer dogs and a georadar to try
to find the child's body. The date for
these actions has not been set yet.
The questioning of eight witnesses that
are considered to be of interest to the
investigation is also foreseen.
Today's meeting takes place at a time
when the ill-being between both police
forces is evident. The PJ has asked the
Scotland Yard to stop giving out
information in order to avoid media
exposure and harming the investigation,
under penalty of not carrying out the
work in Portugal. |
