HOLIDAY complaints don't come more serious than that made by
Joanne Miller.
She told me how she woke to find a stranger sleeping in a spare bed just
yards from her nine-year-old son Harry.
Her daughter Millie, nine months old at the time, was also in the hotel
room.
The incident happened at the Protur Aparthotel Bonaire in Cala Bona,
Majorca.
Joanne, of Gateshead, said she was scared and immediately thought of
Madeleine
McCann, who went missing in Portugal.
She said: 'This was a very serious incident which could have ended very
differently. We could have been robbed, our children abducted, or even
killed in our beds.?
Tour operators Thomson said the woman had got into the room by accident
but they were taking steps to prevent a similar incident.
A spokeswoman said: 'A female guest mistakenly entered Ms Miller's room
during the night on the erroneous assumption that this was her own room.
'Thomson's management team have received reassurances from its long-term
hotel partner, Protur, that security measures have been reinforced at
the Protur Aparthotel Bonaire to ensure that a similarly rare incident
of this nature does not reoccur.? |
