A clever new app which turns the iPhone into a personal attack
alarm has just been launched. KamAlert 1.01, has a motion detector
surveillance camera built-in, panic buttons
for medical emergencies, and can send for help automatically.
Released by Informatica Kamalert SL, the abduction in 2007 of
Madeleine McCann in Portugal was the inspiration behind the creation of
this app. If there is an intruder, the motion detector will start
taking photos to send to the
police for evidence.
Users have the option of choosing who they want to receive any alerts,
so a quick tap of the panic button is all that is needed to send
distress messages.
In the case of an emergency, authorities can locate users with
the aid of GPS, and distress messages can be sent via a
phone call, emails and SMS. The
app is available in US English and Spanish. KamAlert 1.01 is on the
App Store for only $4.99.
