The parents of missing Madeleine McCann are flying to Germany to continue the search for
their daughter.
Kate and Gerry McCann have already been to Spain
and Italy as they scour Europe for information about the four-year-old, who was
abducted 33 days ago.
They are flying to Berlin
in a private jet provided by an anonymous well-wisher for a series of meetings
and interviews.
In Germany, they hope to
meet Germany's Justice
Minister Brigitte Zypries or the Mayor of Berlin,
Klaus Wowereit, before heading to Amsterdam.
They will then travel to the Netherlands
where they lived for a year with Madeleine when Mrs McCann was expecting the
twins.
After a series of interviews on Thursday, they will fly back to the Algarve in time for a jazz concert in their
daughter's name in Lagos.
Plans are also being put in place for a trip to Rabat
in Morocco,
possibly on Sunday.
The McCanns, from Rothsey in Leicestershire, have met
Portuguese police for an update on the investigation.
The last time they met police was on May 24 when they persuaded detectives to
release a description of the suspect the couple had known about for 22 days.
The couple will appear on BBC1's Crimewatch tonight
to a make a fresh appeal for help in finding Madeleine.
It is Mr McCann's 39th birthday today but he has said it is the least of his
concerns. |
