THE father of Madeleine McCann returned to the UK yesterday for the second time
since his daughter was kidnapped 47 days ago.
Gerry McCann flew from Faro in the Algarve
to London's Gatwick Airport
and travelled to the capital for a series of meetings about the campaign to
find the four-year-old.

Mr McCann, 49, a cardiologist, wanted to interview candidates for the role of
campaign manager, a full-time job designed to keep Madeleine's profile high.
His wife, Kate, and their two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie, stayed in Praia da Luz, the resort town where Madeleine disappeared.
Mrs McCann, a part-time GP, has insisted she will not return to the UK until her
eldest child is found and the couple have said they expect to stay at least
until the end of the summer.
Mr McCann, whose compassionate leave finishes at the end of the month, said he
was not ready to go back to work and did not think, as a doctor, that he was in
the right frame of mind to treat people.
A spokeswoman for the family said Mr McCann would not go back to the family
home in Rothley, Leicestershire on this trip. She added: "He has come back
for business meetings with the campaign organisers and others. They are all
private meetings. He is very keen to get the campaign moving forward as quickly
as possible."
Mr McCann first flew back to the UK on 22 May and returned to the
village where the family live. |
