Hunt for
missing Madeleine moves to Second Life |

The hunt for missing British girl Madeleine McCann is moving to the virtual
world.
Missing person signs featuring the four-year-old are visible throughout the
incredibly popular virtual community site Second Life.
Police investigators are planning to feature images of the girl, who
disappeared without trace in Portugal
nearly six weeks ago, throughout virtual society, said Jim Gamble of the Child
Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.
Gerry and Kate McCann are reportedly also trying to convince Google to display
their daughter's eyes in the double-Os on its website.
Even the magic of Harry Potter has been called in to help the search, according
to British media reports that the McCanns have been trying to convince author
JK Rowling to insert bookmarks with Madeleine's picture in the seventh
instalment of the popular series, which goes on sale next month.
The McCanns have been on whirlwind tour of Europe
in recent weeks, drumming up support from governments and even meeting with
Pope Benedict in an effort to further raise the profile of their missing
daughter.
Gerry McCann told a press conference in Rabat, Morocco yesterday that a lack of evidence that
Madeleine remains in Portugal
has led the family to widen their search to surrounding countries.
Madeleine was taken from the southern Portuguese resort town of Praia da
Lux on May 3.
