DELIGHTED to see that when Loose Women’s
Katie Price joined in the criticism of
Kate and Gerry McCann for leaving Maddie
while they dined with friends, they took
my advice from Monday’s column and did
not respond in the manner they had with
Sharon Osbourne.
It is clear from my huge e-mailbag that
it rankles with ordinary people that the
McCanns have never faced censure through
the courts (or anywhere else for that
matter) for neglect in the same way a
council estate single mum might have
done.
Personally I have always been puzzled at
the ongoing silence of their friends who
sat around the dinner table that fateful
night nine years ago. It’s as though
they have taken a vow of Omerta.
Perhaps they could tell how often the
McCanns left the table to check on their
children. Since it’s taxpayers’ money
that is funding the new police
investigation, we do have a right to
know. |
